Well that’s a wrap for day one! The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts have had a very busy day, and are now getting ready for bed! So before we say “lights out” here is your first daily news round-up from camp!
Everyone arrived at camp at around 12:30 and settled in to their tents and explored the camp before enjoying their packed lunches! After the torrential storm had passed all 50 Beavers, Cubs and Scours went off and enjoyed their first afternoon of activities. The activities for this camp are themed as ‘Back to the Future’ and include multiple zones such as Stone Age, The Future, Medieval and Bronze Age. The 29th are running the Stone Age station, so all weekend will be transporting the kids to Ug Land and the Stone Age! Where kids met cavemen, made bow and arrows, became potters, went caving, and learnt how to start fires (without a lighter).
Afterwards we all sat down for dinner together and then after the long process of washing dishes we set off for a camp fire with 200 other Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from other groups. Though it rained the kids had loads of fun and enjoyed slipping and sliding in the mud!
But now the kids are enjoying hot chocolate and biscuits before bed!
We’ll back tomorrow with more fun from camp!
Night night!
